Privacy Policy

1) Privacy Policy (Kids App + Parent Account)Summary
Worry Vault is designed for children to practice healthy coping skills with a parent or guardian’s oversight. A parent or legal guardian must create the account. The App stores most sensitive worry content (text and drawings) on the device by default. The App may upload a worry to the cloud only when the child (or parent) uses the “Share with Parent” feature.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices parents have.Who this policy applies to
- Parents/guardians who create and manage accounts.
- Children who use the App under a parent/guardian account.
Information we collect
We collect information in three main categories: (A) parent account info, (B) child profile & wellness activity metadata, and (C) technical data.
A. Parent/guardian account information
- Email address (used to create and secure the parent account)
- Account settings (for example, notification and email-summary preferences)
B. Child profiles and in-app activity (metadata)
To provide parental monitoring and wellness progress features, we may collect/store:
- Child profile fields set by the parent (e.g., child nickname/first name, age range, avatar/customization choices)
- Worry activity metadata, such as:
- Category/tag selected (e.g., school, friends)
- Timestamps (created date, revisit date)
- Container chosen
- Revisit rating (e.g., smaller/same/bigger)
- Streak / milestone progress
C. “Share with Parent” content (optional)
By default, worry text and drawings are stored on-device.
If the user taps “Share with Parent”, the App may upload the specific worry content (text and/or drawing) to our backend so the parent can view it.We treat shared worry content as sensitive.D. Technical and analytics information
We may collect limited technical data to keep the App reliable:
- Device/app performance data (crash logs, diagnostics)
- App interaction events in aggregate (e.g., feature usage)
- Push notification tokens (to deliver reminders)
We do not enable interest-based advertising. We do not sell personal information. How we use information
We use information to:
- Create and manage parent accounts
- Enable child profiles under a parent account
- Provide the App’s features (worry logging, revisiting, streaks, breathing, and parental monitoring)
- Deliver push notifications (if enabled)
- Send weekly parent email summaries (if enabled)
- Improve app stability and performance (crash reporting)
- Comply with law, enforce our Terms, and protect safety
Parental consent and COPPA
Because the App is directed to children under 13, we require a parent or legal guardian to create the account. By creating an account and allowing a child to use the App, the parent/guardian provides consent for the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
Parents can withdraw consent and request deletion (see “Data deletion” below). How information is shared
We may share information only as needed:
- With service providers who help us operate the App (e.g., hosting, email delivery, analytics/crash reporting). They are contractually required to protect data and use it only to provide services to us.
- With parents/guardians: parental monitoring features may show a child’s activity metadata. Shared worry content is visible to the parent only when “Share with Parent” is used.
- For legal and safety reasons: to comply with law or protect users and the public.
We do not allow third-party advertising SDKs for behavioral targeting in the Kids experience.### Data retention
- On-device content (worry text/drawings not shared): remains on the device until deleted in-app or the app is removed.
- Cloud metadata: retained as long as the parent account is active, unless deletion is requested.
- Shared worry content: retained until the parent deletes it, the child deletes it (where available), or the account is deleted.
We may keep limited logs for security, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.Children’s privacy choices and parental controls
Parents can typically:
- View child activity summaries and trends
- Change settings (notifications, email summaries)
- Delete shared worries and/or child profiles
- Request account deletion
We recommend parents review the App with their child and discuss when it is appropriate to use “Share with Parent.”Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
